Hello and a warm welcome to my page. I’m Fareen, a BACP registered therapist working with adults from a wide range of backgrounds and life experiences.
There are points in our lives when something asks for our attention. Perhaps a relationship has changed, you’ve lost sight of yourself, or you simply know that something needs to change. These moments can feel unsettling, but they can also be an opportunity to pause, understand what is happening and begin to make a different choice.
Before becoming a therapist, I worked in non-profit and humanitarian settings, including with people living with chronic illness and in work supporting children and communities affected by crisis. These experiences continue to shape my interest in how circumstances outside our control can affect our lives, our relationships and our sense of who we are, and how difficult it can be to know what to do when life changes in ways we didn’t choose.
I am particularly interested in working with people who have lost touch with themselves or their own voice along the way. This might happen through relationships, family dynamics, difficult life experiences, or the expectations and roles we have grown up with. You may find yourself constantly questioning whether you are good enough, doing enough, or making the “right” choices, while feeling increasingly unsure of what you actually want. Perhaps you know that something needs to change, but don’t yet know what change looks like.
How I work:
Much like the world we live in, therapy with me is real. It is nurturing, kind and collaborative, but also honest, challenging and courageous. There is no ‘quick fix’ or ‘answer sheet’, but a commitment from me to guide and support you through the process - you do not have to do this alone.
I take an integrative approach, drawing on different therapeutic approaches so that our work can be shaped around you and what you need. I see the relationship between us as an important part of therapy, and I believe that you should feel comfortable, heard, and understood in the space we create together. There is no set formula - we can explore together what is happening for you and what might help you move forward.
